		<description>Yes.  This has made a big impact in our compliance.  We used to import these files and use the NPI to update our physicians list and code them as PECOS enrolled or not.  The masking makes that automated update impossible now.  

I don&#039;t quite understand...NPIs can be looked up on a number of free websites.  And the NPI is publicly known, yes?  Why is there a problem with it being published?  Seems like overkill.</description>
